One-Year Later
Last year, I had the good fortune of speaking with Thane Kreiner about leadership, something he knows a lot about. His career has provided him with opportunities at a variety of tables where he often finds himself with the keys to influence and the means to make things happen.
Last year, Thane anticipated celebrating the beloved Black Corporate Board Readiness (BCBR) community that he co-founded. He shared that this incredible concentration of exceptional talent and their vision and energy for building a better world have been such a wellspring of joy and positive energy for him.
This year, he is indeed celebrating the BCBR community, especially in these challenging times of rampant efforts to erase history and truth. Cohort 16 (“Suite C16”) of BCBR concluded on April 10, 2026, bringing them to more than 440 BCBR alumni who have attained 200+ corporate board seats following matriculation in the BCBR program.
Additionally, a new 501(c)(3), the BCBR Community Foundation, was formed to accompany community members following the program. Its first initiative is a 6-month Board Placement intensive focused on private equity backed board positions.
I knew “of” Thane before I had the opportunity to interview him last year. One thing that I know for sure after meeting him is that when he sees an unmet need that speaks to his heart and mind, he goes after it. From all that I can tell, when he does that, he nails it.
Keep going, Thane, and thank you for checking back in with me!
